Hook Helper Care

To ensure the longevity and comfort of your silicone crochet hook handle, please adhere to the following care guidelines.

Fitting the Handle
  • Insert the head of the crochet hook from the bottom of the Hook Helper.
  • Gently push upwards until the handle is fully in place.
  • Adjust the angle and position of the crochet hook as necessary.

The Hook Helper fits crochet hooks sized 2mm to 5mm comfortably, though it can accommodate slightly larger or smaller hooks with care.

Removing the Handle
  • Push down on the handle while squishing it vertically to create air pockets between the silicone and the hook.
  • Slide the Hook Helper off the crochet hook. If it feels stuck, twist the hook left to right inside the handle as you pull on it.

Do not use sharp objects to pry it off, as this may puncture or tear the silicone. Avoid excessive force and take care not to injure yourself, as crochet hooks can be sharp.

Using with Larger Hooks
  • If using a larger hook that is more difficult to insert, place the bottom of the hook against a solid surface (e.g., a table).
  • Hold onto the sides of the silicone handle and gently push down to fit it onto the hook.

Be cautious, as the hook may slip and could cause injury.

Do not use lubricants or powders (such as oil, baby powder, or similar substances), as they may affect the silicone’s texture and durability. I have found that wetting the crochet hook or washing the silicone handle before fitting can make it easier to slide the handle on and off.

Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Silicone naturally attracts dust and fluff – this is normal. To clean, wash with warm water and mild hand soap (the same type you use daily).
  • Scrubbing is typically unnecessary, but a soft sponge can be used if needed.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, as they may corrode the silicone.
  • If sanitisation is required, you can use rubbing alcohol, though frequent use is not recommended.

By following these care tips, your silicone crochet hook handle will remain in great condition for long-term use. Happy crocheting! ❤

Our spinning yarn holder comes flat-packed for safer shipping. This allows me to ensure that all fragile parts, such as the pins, are securely wrapped and well-protected during transit.
